Yesterday, Vertu, a luxury handset company announced that it has moved its headquarters to Paris and it will reveal new products and services to the market. The brand was founded in 1998 and last summer the British company went bankrupt. But now it is back in the luxury market, which is excellent news. In August, I wrote an article When Luxury Meet Technology - Lessons Learned From Vertu, which stated that the brand's user experience was left behind because premium brands, such Apple, Samsung and many others were able to give better user experiences, and with lower prices. Luxury consumers are extremely demanding, which made Vertu's market position extremely hard. Yesterday, the company announced that it will announce faster and improved handsets into the market. Vertu will likely continue to use Android as its operating system but this time it must offer the best Android user experience in the marketplace to create positive buzz. Also, the new Vertu should have astounding services included, which other devices do not offer. Vertu's Concierge Service must come back with new offerings. Vertu's comeback is a very positive signal for the whole industry because it is an iconic brand. Welcome back, guys. |
